The Heath family lived here for over 20 years before selling the house to a local solicitor, who on his death, passed the house on to his brother, the Cornish author and soldier "Elephant Bill" Williams, OBE. Their lifestyles and beautifully painted land and seascapes have been immortalised in the movie 'Summer in February' released June 2013. The pre-war (WW1) period was a time of extremely talented group of bohemian artists, several of whom went on to become Knights and Dames. Unfortunately, Frank was severely gassed in the Great War and struggled with poor health for the rest of his life. Jessica was also a talented artist in her own right and often painted her children sitting on the rocks by Lamorna Cove. Frank Heath was associated with both the Newlyn and Lamorna Schools of artists. The house was built by the famous local artist Frank Heath as a present for his wife, Jessica, in 1912.
